Track sent!
Track Title: Mayfly
Duration: 9:00
Notes: Tracked in Renoise, using only native DSPs for effects and automation. I pulled 3 total samples from the following recordings to make all the sounds:
JeffWojo: ste_012_974.mp3
JeffWojo: ste_011_259.mp3
Once the compilation has been released, I'll be happy to publish the .XRNS file here if anyone is interested. |

Subject description: Hope to submit in time... |

Hi,
I have just discovered the "No Labels No Musics lV" projet a few weeks ago. I have been working hard on a piece for it (while I admit I have also been spending a lot of time time listening to the previous years submissions, and there is really a lot of absolutely beautiful compositions). Hope to be able to submit before the dead line.
Best regards, and congratulation to all the artists!
Jean-Jacques. |

Not a fault, but João, could you, for the release, please change the underscores into spaces for me?
(I'm still in the DOS age it seems ... no spaces in file names ) _________________ Jan

Almost done, I'll submit mine tomorrow.
The announcement says
"Announcement end: Sun Jan 06, 2013 9:59 pm"
so I'm assuming that's the actual deadline! _________________ http://soundcloud.com/Mefistophelees |

Just sent my track: Transportation 2
Samples:
Train Clickety Pass
Planes
Stairwell
Train travel 1
Tools:
Logic
Audacity
Iris
Eurorack modular (filters)
Line 6 Pod HD500
Lexicon MX400
I started wanting to do something very upbeat based on a train rhythm but I couldn't get it to work. I ended up doing something much more mellow and laid back.
I edited the samples in Audacity then used Iris to filter and loop them.
I was able to get some very tonal loops from the planes sample and processing these gave me some very synth like-sounds.
Last time I found getting a good bass sound difficult, but this time I had the stairwell samples which include me kicking the railing and getting a nice deep bass _________________ http://soundcloud.com/Mefistophelees |

Work sent ! Subject description: Track Title : "The Day Altair Stood Still" |

Track : "The Day Altair Stood Still", 8:41
https://soundcloud.com/jack49-1/the-day-altair-stood-still-2
More a "cinema pour l'oreille" piece than an electroacoustic composition, but It gave me a lot of work in sound design.
The scenario starts like this :
People (mostly kids) are playing in a ground, near a river. Suddendly, a flying saucer lands, and a robot gets out of it... This is of course strongly reminescent of "Forbidden Planet", "The Day The Earth Stood Still",
and "Close Encounters of the 3rd Type"...
I have used the following files :
D.Miñoza : fair1_982.mp3
Jack_Hertz : art_talk_marshal_vandruff_188.mp3
Jack_Hertz : coffee-maker.wav
Jack_Hertz : ramona-41.flac
JeffWojo : 2011_07_09_cutting_grass_596.mp3
Mefistophelees : Kitchen_life.mp3
Modulator_esp : bochum_tierpark_141208_kids_740.mp3
Muied Lumens : appppplause.mp3
Muied Lumens : printer_132.wav
Muied Lumens : riot2_123.mp3
Muied Lumens : riot3_153.mp3
Muied Lumens : calmstream_215.wav
PHOBoS : phobos__musique_mecanique__music_box_happy_birthday_770.wav
Symatic Star : coffee_machine_milk_frother_541.wav
The Software used is :
- ProTools, mainly to create individual sequences from parts and apply effects, and also for the final mix.
- The GRM Tools 3, either individually, or as plug-in in Protools, and specifically GRM Combfilter, GRM Warp, GRM BandPass, GRM Contrast, GRM Evolution, and GRM Shift
- GSD ( http://kiwi.emse.fr/GSD/ ), with various scripts to perform computations and transformations on sounds, granular synthesis, and spatialisation.
Cheers.
Jean-Jacques. |

Sonicsquirrel.net is down (more often than not) so I haven't had the chance to take care of that part either.
Let's wait and see... |
I have noise on my phone line, so the flac zip will take about 5-6 hours (maybe longer). Sonicsquirrel is giving me errors. Are there any other options for downloading mp3s?
Out of curiosity, is IA no longer hosting mp3s and embedded players for new material?

After some inglorious struggle with the Archive.org system and the MD5 thingy, I decided to convert all tracks to 320 kbps mp3 and upload them myself.
By the way, this release has reached 2500 downloads (2407 for sonic squirrel.net and 167 for Archive.org).
I'm sure the mp3s will improve these numbers.
Now, go get it! _________________ https://opcabpol.bandcamp.com | https://www.mixcloud.com/Boiar | http://editoradoporto.blogspot.com |
