Hello folks,

as suggested, I should now upload my work here too.

A quick note about "le midirus", it's the name of the studio I start building 3/4 years ago. For a long time it was meant to be a pure-hardware based setup, designed for live performance. But for better recording purpose, I bought a mixer able to record 12 tracks separetly with-in cubase. Long story short, and gods now it hurts me to say that, I now use cubase as the master midi sequencer. But in the end, I can now create more like real songs, with cool structure (and it features fancy stuff like undo, save and recall later :). Which is, in the end such an hassle to do with hardware sequencer, compared to a nice 24" chords editor :)
Rest assured, I don't do VST or sample voodoo manipulation, everything get synthesized.

So this first track is called "button fucker", as its inspiration came from a band named "fuck button", especially their song called "Sweet Love For Planet Earth".
It have been made with a Virus TI and a Mc 808 for the drums.

The first voice is an arpegiated e-piano like synth into a pattern delay.
The next one, which carry the first is based on the "intim8" patch.
The bass is a simple sine osc which get latter mixed with a formant sine osc. And the growl come from the F-Shift knob :)
Finally, the high pitched voice in the end come from another great patch of the virus: "BitchTits" ;) I have tweak it so much it really shouldn't sounds like the factory one, latest addition for this track is a saw LFO on osc2 pitch and filter 1 cutoff.

I hope you'll like it, and comments/criticism are obviously much welcomed!

This track is called "dirty muffin", because you can add dirty before any nouns and get a nice name Smile.

For this one, a Waldorf Micro-Wave XT, a Virus TI and an rs7000 have been used.

Drums patterns come from the excellent dubstep midi pattern of subaqueousmusic: http://subaqueousmusic.com/production-articles/free-music-tools/60-free-dubstep-and-downtempo-midi-drums
After minor adjustement and sample matching, they are rendered by the rs7000 with some Lo-Fi master effect at the beginning.

The two fast-attack e-piano like synths come from the Virus TI, "intim8" and the one I used for dirty muffin but without the arpegiator neither the delay.
The background echo is provided by the "Depth of hell" factory program of the microwave.

Finally the heavy bass is another Virus TI patch, with some custom modulation to make it feel dubstepish. Though I don't know how to make dubstep bass!

Anyway this one is quite popular on soundcloud, so here it is, hope you'll like it too!

This track is called "Profondeurs de l'enfer", depth of hell in english.

It have been made with an Andromeda, the MicroWave, the Virus TI and the RS7000.
(I use a lot the Virus TI, simply because the VST part make it really easy to use as it auto recall all the program per project.)

Anyway, the first voice is from andy with its intriguing arpegiator along its 16 step analog like sequencer.
Then come the Depth of hell Waldorf program for the ever lasting moan like sound.
Finally a small melodie out of the Virus, which I think bring some hope to this very sad track.

Cheers

This track is called "Satellity" because it feels spacey enough Smile

Synths used: Andromeda, Waldorf, Virus A, Virus TI, RS7000

So the beginning pads are from the Andromeda, I think it is a modification of the Cloister Abbey program.
It is complemented by a Waldorf patch, don't remember how it was done.
And the now "usual" melodie made with the Virus TI.
There is also a triangle bass created on the Virus A, with a slow paced lfo on the filter cutoff.

I like how the same pads sounds when playing high pitched notes in the end, like a long shout...

This record is called Cursed Forest,

Synths used: Virus TI and Waldorf Micro-Wave XT

It have three different part, a light introduction, like in a peacefull grassland, then into a light wood forest and finally into something more dark.

Three patches are used all along, a kind of guitar which is accompanied by a piano like patch (called twinkles on the virus) and finally that marvelous bass like sound which feels like the kind of sounds produced by little mouth harp I guess.
The whole piece is glued together with the micro wave and its fancy pad sounds.

All drums are from mc808's kits.

godspeed

Very glad you liked them too :)

So, here is the last one, called 'Weightless Morning'...
it all started with a few chords a pianist friend of mine showed me. I think it was about a pentatonic scales. Anyway after finding a few variation a nice melodic theme was setup. It is played all along with a modified "twinkles" program out of the Virus TI.

The other instrument are the Microwave playing the begining pad (a patch called warmpad or something), and the guitar sound is the program "Nice Summer" from the gorgeous Rob Papen's andromeda bank.

This track have very limited drums, a simple 4/4 kick here and there

voila!

I did some midi recording of a friend pianist, here what came out with midirus flavors Smile
This is mostly done with Reason 7 by the way. Now that I'm on the move, it so much more convenient to work ITB. Hope the spirit is still here...
