Yeah, it was fabulous. I was so high on the experience that my family had to peel me off the ceiling to get me home. All of us participants had so much fun, we forgot to eat. |

I enjoyed the music the first time around (on the KCEM streamcast) and really enjoyed it again--this time with the video. Nicely done! Thanks for posting it. --Steve |

While looking for stuff to clear off my hard drive, I found a whole bunch of recordings from the KCEM 2010 event. I am not sure if I recorded it on my own or if that was the one where there were connectivity issues and I ended up restreaming it. In either case, I thought I'd mention that I have these files before pruning them from my hard drive.
Obviously, if onsite recordings were made, they should be of better quality than the files I have which were recorded from the 128K stream.
Right now, I am listening to a session on DIY with Kevin, Howard, and Damon. Personally, I think it would make great content for the forum and should be preserved. (I just started listening to some 10GB of files--some saved as wav, some as mp3, so I am not sure what else I have.)
Obviously, the decision of whether or not to make any of this available is up to the participants involved in each performance or discussion. So, this is directed to the participants.
Steve
PS: Here are the files I have. If anyone wants me to check to see if I have something, the date/time stamps can be used to find things.

OK to post stuff I participated in, but please upload only mp3s, of course. Kevin and Barbara did a great performance. That would get great to post on the forum. There were many good performances actually. Thanks. Your efforts are and will be appreciated. _________________ --Howard

I have data discs with back-ups of some (but not all) of the music sets, recorded (mostly as 16/44 WAVs) by someone else, on site.
My memory of the specifics is very hazy, but the way I've labelled my folders of these files ("stream archives") and the presence of introductory voice-overs by Howard and Kevin K. both lead me to suspect we used the archival feature in the streaming app to record everything we broadcast.
I don't remember anymore whose computer we used for the streaming app, or who volunteered to keep and/or back-up the complete set of files. I remember only that I didn't have the storage space (or transfer time) to grab everything that weekend, which is why my collection is incomplete.
My guess at the people most likely to have backed everything up before we left would be: Shane Morris, Dan Minoza, Kevin Haller, and Kevin Kissinger. Thus I'd check with Shane, Dan, or Kevin K. to see if any of them has the full set, or remembers more about the recording situation.
(I also have Mike Metlay's 24/48 recording, straight off the board, of the block that Metlay, Darrell Burgan, and I played. As in that case, any recordings other than the stream archives were made only by the individuals performing. I know this because the Tensor Sensellation set does not exist in full, since the streaming app had an error and was not restarted until after a gap, and Damon and I were not recording it ourselves. Once we learned about the gap in the broadcast, we quickly confirmed that no one else was recording audio at the venue during the Tensor set. After that mistake, I recorded both my solo set and Damon's solo set directly from our rigs.)
For the record, though, here's what I have:
----
Friday, 2010-07-23
• kcem2010_tensor-pt1.wav — 16/44 WAV, 21:37, 228.8 MB
1) Tensor Sensellation (incomplete)
• kcem2010_tensor-pt2_and_goff.wav — 16/44 WAV, 89:08, 943.3 MB
1) Tensor Sensellation (continued)
2) Charles Rice Goff, III
• kcem2010_mar-solo_and_herpich-solo.wav — 16/44 WAV, 121:25, 1.29 GB
1) Adamon (Damon Mar)
2) Emerald Adrift
----
Saturday, 2010-07-24
• kcem_saturday-jam.wav — 16/44 WAV, 101:28 1.07 GB
• kcem2010_shane-morris-dan-minoza.wav — 16/44 WAV, 180:05 1.91 GB
• kcem2010_chris_and_metlay-labrat-infinity.wav — 16/44 WAV, 81:49, 1.5 GB
1) Synth Invasion (Chris Hodges)
2) Metlay! / Palancar / Labratisattva / Infinity Sideways
• STE-000.wav — 24/48 WAV, 80:58 1.4 GB
1) Metlay! / Palancar / Labratisattva / Infinity Sideways
(Metlay’s board recording)
• kcem2010_burning-artist.wav — 16/44 WAV, 47:12, 499.6 MB
1) Burning Artist(s) Sale (a.k.a., Bake Sale {Kevin Haller + Barbara Vesey-Johnson})
----
Sunday, 2010-07-25
• kcem2010_palancar.mp3 — 128 kbps joint-stereo MP3, 46:50, 45 MB
1) Palancar
• kcem2010_machine-noise_and_final-jam.mp3 — 128 kbps joint-stereo MP3, 344:44, 330.9 MB
----
Then I also have pre-board, 24/44 recordings of my solo set and Damon's solo set.
I may also have more folders of stream back-ups somewhere, but if so I haven't found them yet. _________________ Emerald Adrift

That's great! Your versions are of higher quality than mine. I still need to listen to what I have since mine were recoded from the stream. The first thing I listened to was the talk by Kevin K., Howard, and Damon. If it was posted, I didn't find it. I felt it was very insightful and thought others might as well. So, if Kevin K and Damon are OK with it, I can post that--unless someone has an onsite recording.
I am pretty sure I have that first Tensor Sensillation set in its entirety. It was quite nice!! So if you are missing a few minutes and want to restore it into the higher resolution recording , I can get it to you.
Steve
Footnotes:
I am sure that Chris Hodges posted the individual songs from her set as I have listened to them many times--on the stream and on the show I used to do.
Also, I think that was the KCEM when Darrell did his convolution talk. I am guessing that others might be interested in hearing that, so if I have a recording, perhaps he will be OK posting that. |

Steve, sorry it took me an eternity to get back to you.
Here’s my line of thought:
• Since the two incomplete Tensor recordings I have appear to come directly from the streaming app’s internal archiving feature, representing (in higher fidelity) all of the concert audio that was actually sent to the e-m server…
• …and your recordings are from the output of the e-m stream…
• …an intact/uninterrupted recording on your end should still be missing the same portion of the Tensor performance as the archival recordings…
• …but presumably would have that gap in the concert audio (where the streaming app lost connection with the server) filled instead with music from the e-m radio library.
Right? _________________ Emerald Adrift
