I haven't had the energy to plan a set, but I would love to join in in some jamming with the Martians! Martian Art! _________________ Antimon's Window

People will be able to perform in this slot, but only if they are able to do so without a radio operator to sit in during this time. You should know how to connect using sc_trans if you are interested in this. This is an experimental test for events of this kind, to see if in future events we can maybe make do with less ops. |
I am streaming with BUTT. Will that work or do I have to download sc_trans? If "yes", then what version of sc_trans should I use. Is it hard to learn?
Thanks for the info and thank you for the opportunity to perform. I'm going to check my schedule and may opt to do a second thirty-minute set during the break if I can get up and running with sc_trans. _________________ -- Kevin

Then you are already set up for it. In practical terms you just connect using a different port and this also means that when you start streaming you go directly on air, nobody has to switch you.
However, if a jam happens, somebody could pick up your private port and mix it with others, so there would be no need to change anything in your BUTT setup. Jams are usually organzed on the spot in the chat room.
A poster will be coming later today from me, but anyone who feels they want to make one is free to do so. _________________ Muied Lumens Sub Forum

stream test ok |
|
|
OK, I tested my connection with some help from the lads in the chat room. All is well. For the show, do I get a different port (I used 8130 to test), or is there a specific one I need to be ready to go in prior to show time. How soon before show should I connect? details details. I'm looking forward to this.
-John
PS: After trying many stream clients I ended up with an ASIO version of Edcast. I really wanted to use BUTT because I like the interface a little better, but it wouldn't allow access to other channels of my interface. I think it was just targeting the Windows WDM channels. |

5-10 minutes before you go on air is good. If you want to test earlier than that, before you go on air, this should be ok too, but check in the chat first. You will be told in chat when you are actually on air. Note: there is an average delay of 30 or so seconds before people hear what you are broadcasting, so it can be useful to start ahead, or have a "start" sound/drone which can act as an introduction as you are waiting for the go signal.
Looking forward to hearing your set. _________________ Muied Lumens Sub Forum

Here is a quick port assignment for those who need it:
Ganzha: - - - - - - - - Port 8130
Michael Victor (mtvic) - - - Port 8132
SPGoodman - - - - - Port 8134
Parityflux - - - - - Port 8130
That should do it for now - we will have an events page set up on the wiki soon. _________________ Muied Lumens Sub Forum

I can't tell you that.
You will have to find out if the sound is in the public domain or if it is copyrighted somehow. _________________ Muied Lumens Sub Forum

For port assignments please see the event page in the wiki.
There is one day left to test your ports, please go and earn yourself a dot on the event page!
And there is some more readworthy info in the wiki radio pages. _________________ Jan

Here's my setup for my performance and the jam if it happens
Nord G2 into 18 second loop for granular stuff and ipads/op-1 into 16 second loop, for some nicely shifting cosmic noise droning _________________ Jez

It is not possible currently to upload sets .. there is a wrong PHP setting still after the server switch.
This will be fixed after the event finished, as it needs a a service restart which would interrupt the streaming.
Sorry for that, may the patience be with you _________________ Jan

It was Kevin Kissinger who kickstarted me!
It was an amazing event and I'm so glad I got the opportunity to hear most of the music live. Thank you kindly to everyone who signed up, opped, played and listened. _________________ Muied Lumens Sub Forum
