Yes, totally. It was fun and a great first time stream experience for me. the ops made it smooth and easy. The preparation of my rig for this has long term benefits. Great jump start. |

This will be fixed after the event finished, as it needs a a service restart which would interrupt the streaming.
Sorry for that, may the patience be with you 8) |
Any chance you could let us know when upload is fixed please :) |
It may be fixed now - there was an 8MB limit set and it should have been 320 - I was able to upload a 14 MB file after the change. _________________ Jan

Here's the recording of the 3 hour long improv jam performed during the break
with participants Jack Hertz, Modulator ESP, Blue Hell, Antimon and myself.
Thanks a lot for jamming guys, it was a lot of fun!
(I tried to upload the wav file somewhere else but that failed at 100% after ±9 hours of uploading , will try again later)

Recording of my Spring Equinox Set |
|
|
Hello to all! Here is a link to my track:
http://electro-music.com/forum/post-398021.html#398021
Here are some notes on the track:
I performed all except the last couple of minutes on my DIY modular synthesizer. I exploited a number of modules that are often discussed on the DIY forums here:
CGS Digital Noise
CGS Super Psycho Modulation Source
CGS Wave Shapers
Yusynth Diode-Ladder (VCS3 Clone) Voltage-Controlled Filter
Yusynth Fixed-Filter Bank
Mega Percussive Synthesizer
Klee Sequencer
In addition, I utilize some logic modules that I designed to give me increased spontaneous control of clock signals.
My artistic goal is to use the Modular Synthesizer as an interactive, real-time compositional device to create music that is possible only by integrating human and machine.
The last few years, I have become interested in the tonality that results from unquantized pitch voltages. Since the Klee Sequencer has a range control that can limit the voltage range of each step to .25 volt or less, it is an ideal tool to create micro-tonal music that is musically cohesive.
I played the ending section on the Kurzweil K2600 synthesizer. I tuned it in a 7-TET based temperament.
Personally, I am pleased with this performance. I guess I've been feeling a bit intense lately and somehow it came through in the music.
I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in these streaming events. It truly means a lot to me to be a part of this community and these events. _________________ -- Kevin

Thank you. These events always "kick-start" me so is nice to return the favor.
I hate to admit it, but without deadlines (such as happens with these events) other things would crowd studio time out of my schedule. Until last Saturday, I hadn't performed on my synth since the KC electro-music festival which was last July. Last Autumn and at the New Year I was unable to perform (long story which I won't go into here!) so to participate in this festival was really important to me. I didn't want to let a whole year go by!
There was some question as to whether I'd be able to do the Kansas City EM Regional Festival this summer however we ARE doing it and, as in the past, we will stream live from the festival. So, between this performance, future internet performances, and the festival I feel like I'm "back on my feet" with synthesizer work.
My schedule did not allow me to hang around after my set on Saturday however I've downloaded all the sets that have been posted thus far and look forward to listening.
Thanks again to everyone who makes these streaming events possible and to everyone who plays and listens. _________________ -- Kevin
