E&MM Drum synthesizer Subject description: Looking for a circuit diagram |
|
|
Apologies if this isn't the place to post this.
A colleague has a fairly ancient drum synth that he built decades ago from a design from (he thinks) E&MM.
It has a pcb which looks to me like it was made by Maplin, with the code GA60Q.
Would anyone know if this is indeed from E&MM, & if so, where might one find a schematic for it?
All the googling in the world hasn't produced much in the way of info, I'm afraid.
It has a Texas SN76477 ic, 3 x 4071, 1 x 4016, 6 x 741, and 3 x MC3340. |

Thanks for the reply!
I don't think I'm really motivated enough for the track tracing option.
But I'll bear it in mind.

Hi Zeitghost,
I've got a full set of E&MM. I should be able to have dig through them this weekend to see if I can find the project you are looking for.
I'll get back to you soon hopefully.
Regards

Thanks a lot.
If I didn't have the hardware in front of me, I'd have thought this project was totally imaginary by now. |

Found them. It's a series of 5 articles in E&MM (as you had already surmised), from November 1981 to July 1982.
It will probably be early next week before I can get round to scanning them, but they are my stack now - so I'll get to them sooner or later. Can you drop me a PM with your email address, so that I can send the scans when they are ready?
All the best

So it's not a fantasy after all.
Many thanks for your time.
My colleague will be pleased. |

There are some scans from these issues floating around online, i've downloaded a few - but the quality is really terrible, like tiny jpgs of torn magazine pages...impossible to read the text & layouts. If you get new versions up, you'll be a drum synth hero!
I've always been really curious about these projects, many of them similar to Coron DS7, DS8 and Synare circuits, like strange cousins
