Hi there , while finishing the panel design for my CGS89 sequencers I thought I would try some ideas for the panel for 2 CGS35 Steiner vcf's , and get the 2 designs done at the same time at the local sign / printers shop.
After a few mock up designs , I've settled on this layout Smile .

I had a look at some great looking diy CGS35 modules just doing a pic search , most having either 3 separate inputs for the HP in / BP in / LP in or a single input with selector rotary switch .

After a coffee & a blueberry muffin Smile I sketched some ideas for inputs , using a 3 pole / 2 way toggle switch (middle of the panel under the pots) ,in the up position, set to "Thru inputs" in1 goes to HP / in2 to BP / in3 to LP .
Switched in the down position,"mixer", it connects to a 3 pole 4 position rotary switch, where pole A goes to HP / pole B to BP / pole C to LP , the rotary will be wired to send a sum mixed out of the 3 inputs to all or each individual vcf in.

.....And I had room for a handy 1 in / 3 out multiple, Smile .

here's the first blue panel layout ,this design may get some adjustments before printing at the shop Wink .

Dave.

2 boards stuffed with components now.
The supply will be my usual +/- 12V, reading the documents, I have wire linked the 2 diode positions with the rings round them.
The panel sticker is due through the week , tho I think I will finish the gate sequencers first.

Hi again Smile

Module now wired & front panel finished , Tested the supply cables & powered it up without chips first, then power up with chips , all good so far .
Just need to set up the cv trimmer for the cutoff action and also set the trimmer I put in instead of the 2K2 in the resonance area.
I used 2N3904 for npn on one vcf and 2N2222 on the other vcf , both have 2N2907 for pnp ,the 2 vcf's sound pretty similar , but I've used up what was in the component drawers Smile .
For the audio inputs I have a level pot for each hp/bp/lp inputs , flicking the toggle switch makes them act as a 3 input mixer ( veroboard simple mixer) the rotary switch sends the sum of this mixer to - all pass/hp/bp/lp .

Some pics below and sounds to follow through the week after I've set the trimmers Smile .

Dave.

Hullo , sounds Smile Smile

Test sound 1 ....
Patching a vco saw and squ with pwm swinging away into the mixer (switch set to "mixer") , with a slow ramp lfo into the cv input of the Steiner vcf , the first slow rise is the mixer sent by rotary switch to low pass .
The second rise is mixer to band pass.
The third rise is mixer to high pass.
And the fourth rise is mixer to all pass.

Test sound 2 .....
A sequenced vco outputting saw to In1 high pass / squ to In2 band pass / tri to In3 low pass (switch set to "thru inputs") , ADSR to cv1 and an lfo to cv2 , twiddling cutoff , res , & cv amounts while the sequence runs.
