Just discovered FilterPro and FilterCad and was wondering if any one thinks they are useful for designing VCF's ??

FilterPro:http://www.ti.com/tool/FILTERPRO
FilterCad:http://www.linear.com/designtools/software/

What parameters should I try for say a lowpass or bandpass 2-4 stage filters??
What HZ should I be attenuating/cutoff for a low pass filter??
If I'm not mistaken the human ear range is 20 HZ to 20KHZ So i would think for a lowpass filter it should start to cutoff around 200 HZ ??

FliterPro seems more polished than FilterCad, plus FilterCad seems to be
geared towards specific filter chips, which is ok i guess I just dont know
if that will work for audio.

Any insight would be appreciated as Im a bit new to this.

Been looking at one of them because I bought some uaf42 filter ic's, but didn't build anything yet. Apparently these ic's are not that great.

But if you are looking to simulate stuff, why not try ltspice? More a general application rather than something very specific.
