Hi. i'm having some difficulties with the Evolution MK-225C MIDI keyboard. I can record notes in cubase sx2 without a problem, but when I want cubase to play them no sounds comes out of my MS2000. Sometimes it works. I can't say that I've done some changes between the times.

The setup looks like this:

COMP(USB) -> (USB)MK-225C(MIDI OUT) -> (MIDI IN)MS2000.

The 225c is set to MIDI OUT FROM USB, and MIDI THRU is activated in Cubase.

I've been using MIDI for a couple of years now, and I can't figure it out.

/Jonas

Hmm... I use C5 VST 32. Not much help from me.. I am no midi guru either. Any Cubase demons here on the board?

I don't think it is a stand alone cubase problem. It is the same problem with fruityloops.
Right now I have done a "workaround". I've connected the MS2000 to my builtin MIDI interface. Works fine, but I would prefer to use the 225c.

are you sure it's not something like checking midi cables (try a different one), midi volume to zero, correct midi channel between computer and sound module?

Are you using multi-input capable drivers? If you are running a PC, you can download MIDI-OX for free: http://www.midiox.com/
With it, you can use MIDI-YOKE drivers, also free: http://www.midiox.com/index.htm?http://www.midiox.com/myoke.htm
This is essential if you want to use multilple MIDI devices and multiple music programs. These are great programs, but a little bit tricky to learn. If you're using a MAC, I assume there is something similar, but I'm not able to help in that department.

From the look of your setup, you may be getting a MIDI loop which some program may be detecting and automatically disableing MIDI. It's usually best to turn MIDI thru off on sequencer programs.
