Subject description: A capable synthesizer shield for Arduino
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

Hi,

I have been working on small polyphonic and multi-timbral synthesizer shield for Arduino. It has 10 voices, 8 simultaneous instruments and can be controlled by Arduino or a computer, directly using USB and the dedicated sound editor.

It's FM based and had the following structure:
4-operator voice structure
14 different algorithms
10 voice polyphony
8 simultaneous instruments
16-bit stereo output

I am looking for backers to help me to fund the first production batch. I hope you like the project idea.

Also, do not hesitate to give me your feedback, this project is still evolving.

Cheers, Frédéric

I published a new video to explain how to use the OPA shield as an external MIDI synthesizer.

Is the demo 100% OPA shield audio live--i.e., no overdubs/multi-tracking, FX, processing, no other gear, etc?

If so, that sounds like a powerful shield with rich sounds!

Hi, the OPA shield has NO effect on board. This demo makes heavy use of external reverb and eq-ing. If you want to hear dry sounds, there are other demos on my soundcloud but different kind of music.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I have been watching your videos--nicely done! I see you have less than 24 hours for the kickstarter project. I hope others will take a look and back the project. It looks like a nice shield + software editor.

I think it's a nice feature that you can stack 3 shields and set the address for each to ad more voices (if I understand the project correctly).
