Is there any way of recreating on the G1 some of the extra features found in the random modules of the G2? I'm interested the step probability and edge functions in the pattern and clock generators and was wondering if some of the logic modules can do the same thing in put if the right combination. Confused

Are there any other tricks that give some of the G2 newer modules functionality?

you can do the step probability with a Sample+Hold and cross fader.

the input to the s+h is your usual noise source via a cross fader, the second cross fader input is the output of the s+h. The more feedback, the smaller the step size.

Would a glide module do for the edge?

Thanks Ian, id there any way you can clock this to external MIDI? Confused

Also the seed function is useful for saving the same rhythmic position on the S&H is there any trick using the reset function on a regular LFO and combining with a S&H?

I have never used the G1 but the manual lists a midi master module and clock dividers. Divide by 6 should give you 16th note timing?

yeah but the S&H clock input is being fed back by the other fader output if I've got this right? Neutral

Think I need a screen shot

No, the clock just activates the hold on the rising edge.

The output is mixed back into the sample input.

alas there is no dedicated S&H module on the G1 like the one in your diagram Sad

OMG as if I haven't seen this module before! Embarassed

I'm well on the way now cheers. Very Happy

Now trying to get similar results or emulating the step probability in the G2 pattern generators by replacing the noise source with the G1 pattern module.

getting there....... Confused

What about controlling parameters using external MIDI CC ring led encoders?
I've used my BCR2000 and it's superb for edition.
The only things to do is assignind midi CC and then send all CC status from the G1 panel.
