hi there,

i'm sending in an external osc into the analogue input 1 of my g2rack.
level comes in fine and all, no problem there, EnvFollow also works perfect.
So I use the EnvFollow output to control all kinds of stuff, great.

Now what I'd like to do is 'flip' or 'invert' that signal, so that when the incoming signal is at max, controller data is at min, and vice versa.
(Instead of the direct connection I have running now, where max is max and min is min.)

I've been trying to get it work for about a day, the best I could come up with was sidechaining the compressor, but that doesn't work very well and is very unefficient.

Would be great to hear other ideas !

Much appreciated, all best from snow white Rotterdam,

Gideon

Just pass the output of the env-follower into:

Level converter module (LevConv - found in the 'level' section)
In signal type on the module set to Pos
The green arrowy thing between in and out of the module should be set to PosInv.

That is all there is to it.

It might work for the internal signal flow, but it certainly does not work with the external signal i'm sending in ?

If the envelope follower works for you, the inversion with the LevConv will work to invert the control signal you get from the envelope follower. The output of the envelope follower is a positive, unipolar control signal. When you setup the level converter to see an input of 'positive unipolar type' you can then change the output of the level converter to bipolar straight, bipolar inverted, unipolar positive straight, unipolar positive inverted, unipolar negative straight, unipolar negative inverted.
