Yes ryktnk, we are ready for your kits!

Thanks.

I have found a source for 8-way switches, so I will be
offering those with the kits, possibly with a panel PCB
to make assembly mutch easier.

I am in the middle of redesigning the PCBs, for easier
assembly [ lots less transistors, resistors ].

Also there will be more options for each stage setting than
before, so rythmially the new version will be a lot more fun.

Sorry it's taking a while, it is not my day job.

More soon . . .

I will take two sets of whatever you end up offering.

Will the switches be rotary in the updated version?
Thats great - more playable IMO

You can make the it with which ever switch you like !
There is a link a page or do back in the thread for some
nice mini rotaries, or I will hopefully be offering 8-way
slide switches.

Good news !

I found a source of new 8way slide switches, they are a bit smaller
than the previous ones.

The big difference is these are PCB mount, the old ones had threaded
holes and could be panel mounted.

Any one have a preference ?

Well done! I am sure those will be better for a control pcb, if you are still planning one. Also always good to save a little space.

Hope the design is going well.

I can get these here in the Netherlands. I reckon they should be obtainable from another source as well.

I don´t think in this case smaller switches are better for a control of eight positions switch.

Thanks for the link.
I have never seen this size with PCB legs before.

Alhtough it is a shame they dont have normal knobs.

Alfredo - you make a very good point and usability should be the utmost consideration.

Ryk says they are 'a bit' smaller so hopefully not enough to affect the programming?

Travel is 2.5mm per pole, as apose to 3mm per pole on the larger switches,
so I think they are still quite usuable.

They are the same swithces used on the famous "inspired" by ryk m185
Eurorack modules.

Unfortunately these are all I can get hold of, unless people prefer
the larger panel mount switches with solder tags.

As you think they are perfectly usable I am sure I would be very happy.

Looks good to me! I think I would favour these over the larger panel mount for sure.

So the project can be revived soon?
Thanks and best wishes!

Hi

It's not a done deal, the smaller switches have an akward
schematic.
Kind of 8P 1T rather than 1P 8T !

So I might prefer using the original slightly bigger ones, which do
allow for panel mount if needed.

I can also recommend the 16mm mini rotary switches which I think ryktnk suggested earlier in this thread. I ordered some from eBay for another project and fyi the company "leg-switch" are honest and very helpful. Although they sent me 2p4T by mistake, when I realised and told them they immediately sent me the correct 1p8T (even though I didn't realise for 2 months!) they work fine and are pretty good quality.

sorry about long link! :-
