Hi there, I really like how you mix what you do with humor. I figure we all need more of that.

Anyway here's my idea. Among other things I am a guitarist and have a talkbox. Everyone knows that that is right? You know, Frampton Comes Alive?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk_box

OK here's my idea. Instead of having the talkbox output little vinyl hose stuck in your mouth put the output hose in a tub of water. Then record whatever comes bubbling out of the water with a decent mic like an AKG414.

bonus points: make the horn in the talkbox have isolated line level in, so you can plug the output of a tape recorder, synth, whatever. I guess you could do that with the talkbox as-is with a suitable impedence converter.

What would that sound like? I figure it'd sound like something out of "yellow submarine" but I have no idea. I am not even sure it will work, but I figure the air from the output of the horn has to go somewhere, so it would have to produce bubbles in the water.

If no one has ever tried it I might dust off the old talk box and see. Worst thing is that it ruins the talkbox but I never use it anyway.

Has anyone ever messed with this?

I am reminded of this video by Negativland member the weatherman Laughing

I think you would need a fairly big driver to get anything and I doubt a standard talkbox would have anywhere near
enough output pressure for it. But maybe it could work but you'd have to use a hydrophone, so record underwater
which isn't really what you want. I don't think recording the bubbles outside of the water would produce much except
maybe a tiny bit of bubbling but again that depends on the driver. Ever farted in a bathtub ? did it sound like a fart
when it breached the surface ? When I read bubble machine I instantly thought of one of those soap bubble blowers
which does make me wonder; if you do use somethng that has enough pressure and you use soapy water would you
get bubbles to the beat ? (sounds like a good album title btw). hmm, use a poweramp and stick the output in water
for some musical electrolysis.
