I have a solution I'm happy with.

Here's the build guide. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1i9mYZ4Ezl6ja4aGsn7jYUz4SJLDFa8M8D7FBVsL6auo/edit?usp=sharing

I can sell you PCBs for $10 apiece and you get the rest of the parts, or assembled PCB+encoders at $20 a pop and you can wire it yourself, or you can ship to me and I'll do all of them for $100 + shipping. I see you're in the US so shipping should be reasonable in any case; I found with the last one I repaired that shipping to Europe at least is ridiculously expensive.

NOTE for anyone else reading this weeks or months or years from now: this offer is subject to encoder availability, and willingness to pay shipping charges. The hard part here is that the "good" metal encoder that I use for this is only available from the UK and the shipping from the UK is ridiculously expensive, so I get a batch and then work with them while I have stock, and if I don't have stock it may take me a while to get more.

One additional note; if you source the encoders yourself, I'll sell you populated PCBs without the encoders for $15 each.
