MP7, the "Modular" Korg MiniPops 7

Hello all,

being an electronics and synth enthousiast since childhood, I've always been into electronic music (mainly the seventies with JM Jarre)

Having arrived in a stage of life where there is some time to work on
re-designing / re-inventing the analog sounds of the sixties-seventies and eighties,
I would like to present the MP7 to you.

I've been working on this MP7 and its brother (MiniP7 the Minipops Clone) since end 2017.
All of the works and progress were published on MW, but I gladly summarise the process here.

Also for any new project I start, I will update the electro-music members.

Usually, my projects are available as SMD populated PCB with frontpanel, occasionally with the TH components included.

Saw this on Muff Wiggler too salut

I would definitely like to order one of these - great design, sounds really excellent. I like the flexibility of being able to trigger the sounds as separate modules and use the sequencer separately to trigger other modules. Also has all the necessary clocking and midi. Looks like it could easily be put in a small case with a power supply as a freestanding drum machine too.

Good that all the smt parts on the main pcb are pre-soldered - so it would be an easy job to put together the panel pcb buttons and sockets and get it up and running. I would bring a few of the trimmers so the front panel as pots to allow the sounds to be tweaked rather than set.

Can't see any downsides on bringing this classic up to date and into modular! Good work!

Indead, assembly takes about 90 minutes, and then one can enjoy this fine instrument.

Anyone else any interest in this ?
