How are you treating your kicks? Is this only EQs and compressors? Or you are using something else as well? I like the soft, yet punchy nature.

Well, it depends on the sample library that I use. In my opinion, most of the kick sounds that I choose are already punchy and treated (by the makers of those sound libraries), so there is nothing much for me to do. I just make sure that the low end stays in mono and sometimes do a very gentle eq'uing on the low end. I think it more depends on how it sits in the mix when listening to a whole track Wink
