Hi Ryk
The new 185 looks amazing you have certainly added many features and the synth diy community is really lucky to have such incredible talent. |

Please don’t forget about me. I definitely want
1 x 100M format (ready built)
1 x MU format (DIY kit)
and 1 x Eurorack (DIY kit)
Thanks, I hope to see you soon, anyway!

Hi Ryk
Hope you're doing OK during the lockdown. Are you expecting all this disruption to cause you delays?
Thanks |

I'd like to have a Euro kit as well ...
Will there be a website to order, or is it just by expressing ones wishes here or at Muffwiggler ?

Hello
Thanks.
There has been a delay getting the last batch of switches from China,
which should hopefully be coming soon . . .

I am setting up a web-shop to make the ordering easier.
Should be up and running in the next week or two.
Stafe safe !

Hello
Unforntunately shipping of PCBs from China is delayed, due
to priority given to more important deliveries such as medical items.
So have to wait another week, sorry.
Stay Safe !

Hello
I will be shipping orders on Monday.
But they are selling fast, so might be sold out for a few days, more available end of next week.

I pulled the trigger on a single kit. The price is a bit steeper than expected for a kit although I appreciate all the work Ryk has done to source quality parts and make such a cool panel. The 2xMIDI via TRS output is really an awesome feature! That means I could sequence some of the other fun gear I have outside of the modular.
I'm very excited! |

I am looking forward to when they become available again.
Are there any plans for a 5U version? I've spent the evening messing about with a design that I'd be planning to build if there's nothing in the works.
I've decided to give it some more moog 960 features but I think I'll have to bang my head against the circuits to drive these tomorrow.
EDIT: I've added a schematic for the additions; as my electronics knowledge is rather limited any comments on feasibility and idiosyncrasies would be appreciated.

Hello
Looks nice !
My design is to use the large 8way slide switches, and orientate vertically.
But I assume you are going for more of a Moog vibe.
PS the stage LEDs are common anode.

Would a current mirror inline with the LED do the job then? Or do you think an optofet might be a better choice to bypass that half LED completely? |
Looks like it might work.
I bow to your transistor knowledge !

I'd be interested in a PCB + panel too! The kit is out of my budget |

Hello
Sorry, no currently it is a full kit.
I'm not sure how it would work with PCB and Panel only, as there are quite
a few unusual components [ switches ! ] some of which are MOQ 5k pieces.

Sorry to hear this, I tried to make it affordable, but I am not Behringer.
I am not sure you would save much money this way.
We could offer the kit without cables and knobs, but then you would have
to buy the cables and knobs elsewhere and end up spending a similar amount of money.

no worries, I expected as much but just thought I'd state my interest for a pcb/panel just in case you were considering that as an option.
Maybe a pcb/panel and rare parts kit? |

Looking over the BOM all the parts look pretty common except those 8-way switches.
ryktnk wrote: | I am not sure you would save much money this way. |
For me it's not really about the total cost but having $350 to drop all at once. Real-life stuff sucks up most of my cash but If I can buy parts here and there I can eventually get it built.
Anyway I will try to save up for one of these kits b/c they look awesome! |
