When I was whining once about not being able to play my piano, Jan told me to build a machine to do it for me.

So the following patch is also a bit Jan's fault...

***Internal MIDI alert! - Please load in slot A***
(And keep the rest of the slots clear; this one needs to allocate some voices!)

This aint no fault I regret :-)

I bet this player could play other intruments as well ...

Are you having a patching holiday or something ? What an enormous outbreak of patches I mean ...

Jan.

Jan, to be honest, I'm a bit scared by this sudden productivity too...

By the way... Made a last minute update. Nothing big; just changed one LFO from saw to triangle but it's much better this way. So be sure to get this version. (Sorry)

Nice melody generator. The selection of different keys makes for some interesting patterns. Very cool. Cool

Here's a performance with two copies of this patch. In SLOT A the piano is transposed up 1 octave and in SLOT B it is transposed down 1. Also, the patch levels has been cut by 50% (two parts). I backed off on the stereo chorus on the left hand part.

Now we have a beautiful composition. Sounds Chopinesque, sorta. More dreamy if that is possible, or maybe just psychotic. If you played it live you would be well received, assuming that at some point you stopped and took a bow. Laughing

Howard, I took the liberty of messing around with your performance a bit. The only thing remaining in slot B is the player which is now in the same key as the one in slot A (although you may not want that, being the excentric person that you are Wink ). This squeezes out three extra voices, avoiding some (not all) nasty "twangs" when two notes collide in the string oscillator. Although this might not be a problem on an expanded G2; I don't know. Transposing is now taken care of in the midi note send module.

If I might make another suggestion: take the original patch and increase the rate of LfoA2 (somewhere in the FX area) to about 3 Hz. At 4 Hz the piano gets stressed (twang!) occasionally, but then again, I'm not expanded yet.

It would give you 26 voices, I turned up LFO2a to about 6 Hz, and LFO1a to 4.57 with a random wave selected - wow this guy can really play :-)

Hmm, Rob made a granulizer once, ah got it. Now that messes things up nicely again :-)

Jan.

Hmm. Well, this certainly hides the flaws of the piano quite nicely.

Sounds a bit like a Balkan-orchestra on dope (the mellowing kind, that is).

Wow Ron! This "piano player" is very good - better at the keyboard than me!

I wanted to let him play my piano patch. I also gave him a sustain pedal to use.

It's back to patch mode and designed for Slot A.

Just one ...

Again more of the same; this performance generates some accompanying moody chords as well.

Unfortunately, for us expansionless guys, this performance is suffering a bit from the overstressed stringosc syndrome (o.s.s. as we doctors call it) I mentioned earlier...
