High,

Can the Behringer BCR2000 be used as a Modular/Mac midi interface? Will it allow the necessary hand-shaking between my Mac and Nord Modular?

Thanks,

JPW

Hi(gh) back.

I have a BCR2000 and a G2 and... and a PC, but if you Mac has a USB port (should do), then the answer is yes. You can connect the NM1 to the BCR (MIDI) then the BCR to Mac (USB). It has several operational modes utilizing the 2 MIDI outs, 1 MIDI in and 1 USB in/out (to computer only) in different ways. One way is to use the BCR as a basic 16 channel MIDI interface for a computer.

I can recommend it. Very Happy

Hope that helps.

Dude, you don't need to connect the USB at all.
I've only used USB once. It's not neccessary.

meh, either way it's just a big hunk of gear i don't really want or need. just wish i would have decided that before my 30 trial period was up. oh well live and learn and guess... or live and try things out a lot more extensively during your trial period. it's also so hard for me to sell gear, i'm always thinking i'll find a use for it some day... which may be soon. anyone ever use the tassman modular soft synth? i just won a copy, wondering how it might compare to my NM. guess i will find that out soon as well...

Funny. When I got my Behringer BCR2000, I got rid (gave away) my Deopfer Pocket Fader. Laughing
