You could start a player and for the URL use http://radio.electro-music.com:<portnr> where <portnr> is one of the port numbers Howard gave to you - you can try both, both should work. And when that is working all should be OK, those ports will be manually plugged through to the main ports when it's "your time".
A few messages back I gave some examples for various players.
The main ports seem to be conected to the Noodle Radio now, but that will be a bit messy for the time being, as I'm working on making a program rather than doing serious streaming :-)
Ehm, and it should do some bug finding ... _________________ Jan

I have set up Winamp with the shoutcast plugin as Mosc explained and clicked Connect. As far as I can tell something is being sent, I just don't know whether it is getting through. Is there any way to check? Last edited by modulator_esp on Thu Dec 29, 2005 6:15 pm; edited 1 time in total |

...i was able to run foobar2000 listening to the stream at the same time winamp was sending it (make sure to point specifically to the stream you are sending).

Yes, that's what I tried to explain. You can listen to the same ports you send on, and it will be running through the server then.
Just don't use WinAmp to monitor as you are using that to send, but almost any player will be able to play shoutcast streams. The audio you get back back will b delayed by some tens of seconds. _________________ Jan

Thank you both, I had not realised I had to change the port on the monitor to match that on the transmitter. Everything is OK now _________________ Jez

Ok, lets try to sort it out.
For the Shoutcast plugin : are you using the port numbers/passwords Howard sent you ?
I had some confusing characters in the passwords I got from Howard, cutting those out of Howard's message and pasting them into the password box solved a connection problem for me.
For OddCast, are you using the WinAmp plugin, the Foobar plugin or the stand-alone version ?
You'll need the file lame_enc.dll for the OddCast standalone it must be in the folder where the OddCast exe is, for the plugin I guess it should be in the WinAmp folder or in the WinAmp\plugin folder. WinAmp itself uses lamedll.dll which seems to be a different lame encoder. _________________ Jan

I found this out the hard way, and hopefully this might help you, Michael. Make sure there is no file loaded in Winamp when you have the plugin Shoutcast Source's Input on Soundcard. On my Windows 2000 it will freeze the whole computer if it's on Soundcard and there's a MP3 loaded and trying to play. If you want to play a file put the input on Winamp. If you want to play live through the soundboard, clear it out (there's a menu for that) and then change the input from Winamp to Soundcard.
If you still are having problems, Winamp has a pretty extensive support system. There are lots of posts on their forum that will walk you through problems. There are all sorts of problems that can occur. Old sound cards will need buffers, you'll have to have a recent Direct X loaded, etc.
Hope some of this will help. |

I'm having problems with the schedule page too, and also with the main site, takes for ever to load and quite often doesn't make it. Hopefully it'll all be sorted for later _________________ Jez

Well, I stayed up much later than I should to catch the sets by Antimon, Mike Victor, Deknow and Mosc and enjoyed them all.
When's the next one? _________________ Jez
