Subject description: electronica made on... toys. :)

I were always wondering why some people love music-toy so much. People make electronic music using toy-keyboards, old 8-bit computers.
They make WWW sites about their collections of small keyboards or computers made in 80s.

Some time ago I found PSS-270 project. The guy (many guys?) makes his electronic music using toy-keyboards: YAMAHA PSS-270 and sometimes Casio SK-5.

The phenomenon is strange but maybe worth to listen to it...?

Here are some songs:

Mechanic Doll Lullaby

PSS-270 ate my brain

Mommy, there is a cyborg under my bed

Is that your arm, miss?

Steam-Machines' Island

There is no any cyborg under... AARRGH!!

looks good! I'll listen during my lunch break.

I found the site http://parishq.net/ which PSS-270 is on and there are lots more artists, especially ones I haven't heard at micromusic.net before. I always love a new micromusic site! Thanks!

Oh, micromusic.net isn't the only (and I hesitate if it's really the best).

For example take a look here (where I found mentioned musician first time) - http://music.gameboymall.com/
or here - http://www.vorc.org/en/

Anyway - it still amaze me. Smile Electronic music on tiny keyboards and comps. Wink

Yeah, I've found a few good things on Micromusic.net, but I get this kinda "we're cooler than you" atmosphere when I log in. New releases are put out so infrequently, the only things I end up going there for are links to new software.

BTW, I own a Yamaha PSS-470, and it rocks! I love the horns and synth basses.

I really like this music. Not just the sounds are greally great, but the music is good too.

Yes, he's got good arrangements. When I listened to some more chiptunes at the gameboymall site, I forgot how long it had been since I had heard some really great NSF tunes! I particularly liked the work by "alexor."

opg, Your avatar looks like made on ZX81. Is that true or only a coincidence? Smile

I'm a big fan of Sinclair computers, so I'm asking, hehe.

No, but I'll have to read up on the Sinclairs! I just enjoy drawing graphics zoomed in with a grid to show each individual pixel space. 8-bit stuff, I guess.

Here's a picture of a keyboard I created that is on my website:
