Taking a rest from the Random module group.

The glitchy patterns here are produced by a shift register with feedback so they are not random, if that matters Rolling Eyes

Doesn't the pattern gen. module use LSFRs also?

Most likely.
This one is not optimal length, and gives access to all the bits in parallel. So I trigger 3 different sounds off the same rotating bit sequence. Also the bits are assigned randomly (or are they carefully selected connections?) to a couple of DIY 5 bit DACS for dynamics.

Just an exercise I suppose, choosing to limit the modules you use can sometimes result in new ideas.

Sorry! I suppose reading back that my typed words didn't sound like they would have coming out of my mouth. Just an observation, though.

I do like the multiple taps off the shift register, and the end result, as always Ian, sounds great.

No need to say sorry, it was a good point Smile
I like the way the random modules can be made to repeat a sequence of values. In hakuyen.prf, the rythmns are random but every two bars get repeated which makes it sound more 'composed'.

Yes, this seems to satisfy the mind. I think it is established compositional practice that "always twice, never thrice". I've found this to be a good rule of thumb. Still, if you put in a transposition, mode change (key change), inversion, or retrograde, you can have a lot more variation and still keep that 'composed' quality. No matter what you do, repeated patterns will get stale pretty quickly.
