Subject description: Can I have some?

Hello all budding synthesists,
Being a complete novice in the wonderful world of creating patches, I was wondering if anybody would care to lend a hand?
My Nord Modular classic is hungry for a patch which sounds much like a fart in a bath (without the initial whoop). So a deep bubble sound which increases in pitch.
This may seem as slightly unusual, however there is reason in my madness. If you've ever heard the song Danger! High Voltage - Electric Six, then you may know what i'm talking about. There is a synth noise which appears much like what i described above, and I need to recreate it for my Music Tech coursework.
Anyway, any help would be much obliged.
Thanks for your time,
Carl

everything you need is right here: http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/

there is all sorts of fun stuff in there. bubbles, farts, and my personal favorites: GayPornoTop and GayPornoBottom... genius.

i recommend downloading the zip file with all the patches catagorized. it's a TON of patches, but it's always nice to have for new ideas, or, well, doing stuff like what you're doing.

and this has been a world of help to me: the Advanced Programming Techniques for Modular Synthesizers (all nord based) :: http://www.cim.mcgill.ca/~clark/nordmodularbook/nm_book_toc.html

and there ya go. this should keep you from leaving your house for the next six months or so...

Hi Carl,

When you put the words dik mik in the search engine you'll find an explanation about dik miks. These are patches that sound like farts in space!

Hope this helps,

Karel.

Thanks once again for your help. I found some tips for making that synth, now all it needs is some fine tweeking. It seems to me that the Modular, if anything, is a great learning tool. With such a hands on approach and with all those digital creature comforts it must be perfect for educating people. Maybe one day Schools will have something similiar.

Why thank you, I was quite pleased with the way those turned out. But to give credit where it is due, those two patches (which are intended to be loaded together in two slots, panned slightly left & right) were created by modifying a patch called "Britney" which sounds like a female pop start having an endless orgasm. Whoever made the "Britney" patch is the genius. To create GayPornBottom I mostly just retuned the vocal filter and made a few other minor tweaks. To create the 'top" I replaced the random "groan generator" circuit with a rythmic LFO that slowly gets faster and slower.
