Anybody using a vermona DRM 1 mkII?

I just heard one of these, and am thinking of maybe picking one up..... Although with my G2 I don't know if it would be redundant? Maybe it has something that the G2 doesn't have that makes it worth the money. I really want to hear them side by side but that isn't possible at this time unless I buy one. So maybe there are some users out there with comments?

The DRM1 is another beast... you get a knob for every function, it's
completely analogue, and you get funky BBD 'reverb' on your snare
and your clap.
As it's an analogue module, it just sounds the part. Not fat (or phat haha!),
it ain't no 909 or 808, although you can sometimes come close... but
it sounds alive, organic. It's not the cleanest machine, quite noisy.

I do consider having this machine as a bit of a luxury. You'll be able to
approximate all of the sounds with a G2 or even V1 Modular.
But if you can afford the luxury, do buy one! Having a dedicated knob
for every function, and the organic-ness of the 100% analogue sound is
very nice... in fact it's a very nice machine! If you can't afford the luxury,
or need a machine that can do 909 style stuff, get yourself a JoMoX
XBase 09 (if only for the great kick it has). If you're more into whacky
FM-modulated stuff, and electro-like sounds (sorry for the typecast!),
the DRM1 is your better choice.

what is the deal with that reverb?? Is it some spring deal or is it just something like a white noise decay? I thought it was odd when I saw it in the picture. Do you feel like the real analogue sound has something more than the modelling engines of today as far as drums go?

The delay is a BBD (Bucket Brigade Delay), so it can really give a dirty
tail to stuff. It's not a 'realistic' reverb at all, it seems closer to a noise
decay, but you can hear it isn't. If you use distortion and a compressor
after the snare, this can really rock!

I think the analogue qualities of the sound certainly have something extra
compared to today's modelling, but that said, the scope of sounds coming
out of this machine is more limited... It's more a character thing than a
sound-design thing.
