As I write this, we are about 15 minutes past our latest upgrade to the forum software. This upgrade was a lot of work but most of you won't notice anything different. Most changes were to fix bugs and security issues.

There is one improvement to Mozilla and FireFox users. When editing posts, the cursor works a little better. You can now insert a little emoticon in the middle of text.

Thanks for the feedback.

Hmmm. Works for me, but I won't have access to an OSX/Safari machine for a couple of days. One problem is you must be logged in for this to work, I think.

Anyone else on OSX/Safari can verify this?

I had to login explicitly again since this update, somehow my cookie didn't work. Guess that can be a surprise to some, it was for me, at first i thought there was a lot of stuff i didn't read (243 messages) after login it were a mere 50 messages.

I am on win98 and firefox.

Ahhh, yes. There is a very important fix to the cookie code in this release. In the past, several of us had been clobbered by the "cookie monster" Posted Image, might have been reduced in size. Click Image to view fullscreen.. Your cookie could grow too big and - bam - you were hosed. You had to manually delete the cookie, something many people don't know how to do. That problem should now be behind us.

Maybe we can dig out the old Cookie Monster Virus to clean things up. Wink

For the record, how do you do this then Mosc? I know this is mainly a PC problem (IE and not Firefox??). I don't know how to get rid of cookies from my Wintel box either.

Perhaps it would make a good subject in the 'Windows as a music workstation' section? For all computer-music newbies?

Cookies are kept by the browser and had nothing to do with the operating system. All browsers store cookies. In Firefox, try Tools -> Privacy -> Cookies, or you can install a cookie manager extension. I don't know about the other browers, but there is something similar.

For IE - http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;283185&spid=2073#E0KB0ACAAA

I just spent a few hours tracking down a really nasty problem. Some of you, especially Blue Hell, will be glad to know that now when you click on the egosearch or lastposts links you will get the login page if you're not logged on. Before today, you'd get just a blank page.

This was at worst an annoyance, but I'm working on some new feature and it was a show stopper.

OK, I reduced the interval from 5 to 2 seconds. Let me know if that is better. If 2 seconds is to much, maybe you need to cut down on the coffee. Laughing

Hmm, so you really think I might have this little dosage problem ... hmm .. guess I should thank you for bringing this to my attention then.

Seriously though, 2 s should be more than ok when it was 5, but I did hit it a few times this evening (when it was still 5).

Yes, I was getting hit by the timer too. It was just so much easier to ignore it than to fix it. You know how that is. Wink
