In case you guys/gals did not know it. Morbius knows more than a little
about Synthesizers.com synthesizers Very Happy

Morbius was very helpful to me as I was exploring modular synthesis as
a beginner. I am still very thankful for the time and effort that he spent
with me.

Anyone that nay be considering a Synthesizer.com system would be wise
to contact Morbius.

I do not work for Synthesizers.com Very Happy

welcome Harry. Great to have you here.

State College is not too far up the road from Allentown. Next time you are in the area, look me up. Very Happy

Cool Smile

Coincidentally, I have been trying to find out how the SEM envelopes work. They look like Minimoog style ADS but the Mini has a switch so that the release time is 0 or same as decay. I can't see an equivalent switch on the SEM panel or schematic.

Wow, some gorgeous machines...I just dribbled on my keyboard.

Here's my modest modular. It looks (and undoubtedly sounds) pretty wimpy compared to all the monsters pictured here, but I guess you gotta start somewhere. As you can see, it's composed mostly of Paia and Blacet modules, but I just added a MOTM piece (regretfully, the only module not built from a kit...SMT, bah HUMBUG!). The two white modules are of my own design. On the left is the 'Hamspring', a spring reverb module using the circuit board and reverb tank of an old Hammond Dolphin. The one on the right is the 'Simpler', a simple sampler utilizing the IDC2540 recording IC. I'll post full descriptions and demos of these and other modules of my own design in here soon...somewhere.

Here's my Frac setup. It needs a bit of rearranging. The holes are for two more VCOs, and one Quad VCA which I need to build.

Thanks guys. A bunch of meat hooks were left in my garage from a previous home owner and I was wondering what I could use them for, now they hold up my cables I want easy access to, there are a few more not shown in the photo...

My studio has already been posted. The pic is a bit old. NM1 replaced by a G2X; still haven't cleaned my desk. Shocked

With the addition of my two ZO's, I'm now maxed-out... unless or until I get another cabinet. At any rate, I've moved things around and no longer have ANY blank-panels on the front-side of either my studio or portable system. So here's the current configuration as of 8-06:

Bummer to have such limited console space.

Seriously, that is impressive! Smile

Yeah... ya know... I'm sure some would be saying 'poor baby'... (and rightfully so)- but actually, it is kind of a bummer to run out of space- whether it's after the 5th cabinet, or 1st.

Ya sit there and wonder if you should consider getting another... and then, you start wondering 'what for'... are there any unique modules you just have to get?

Yeah... I know there are some who are thinking that they wish they had to make a decision like that.

Woe is me... woe is me. Crying or Very sad

haha!

Well, yaknow... I don't want all the modules in the world though I perpetually want just one more...

A modular synth is a labor of love. Whether you build it yourself or acquire factory-built modules the result is something very personal.

Looking at everyone's studio pics is great because those of us that have this interest realize the passion that one puts into one's studio setup.

I can still remember opening up the shipment of my first module...

Very Happy

Oh yeah! It's like that 'new car smell'. And it kinda never happens again... but almost sorta does... kinda... but not really.

(No... I'm not on drugs.... but I should be).

Are you absolutely sure another cabinet is a good idea? I mean, it could gain consciousness and devour you, Tennessee and the adjoining states.
