Just wanted to contribute my latest bank of 32 patches for the FM7.Trying to steer away from the standard Fm stuff this bank contains more ambient type pads and some analog synth emulations.Hope you like them! If there is interest I have lots more patches to share. Very Happy

The link works now.I was trying to upload the actual FM7 bank which is an unsupported file extension.Once I put it in a zip file it worked perfectly.

Thanks for the welcome! I look forward to contributing much more.
Very Happy

I can make the filetype acceptable to the software. What should it be?

Also, please see my post on recovering old DX7 patches. Maybe you have some idea that might help: http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-1400.html

Can the FM7 use DX7 patches?

I think the FM 7 can use DX 7 patches. Yup! Seems so in the manual. I always wanted to test this, but I never quite got around to it.

Yes if I remember correctly my old TX7 could send sysex dumps then you'll need a program like Soundlib:http://www.sonicspot.com/soundlib/soundlib.html
It's now freeware. It will save the DX7 dumps as sysex. Then they can be loaded into the FM7.I have loaded many old DX patches into the FM7 and breathed new life into them using the onboard effects and additional waveforms and filter.I'd be very interested in checking out the DX patches if you get them into sysex format.Let me know if I can help! Very Happy

Ooops this reply was supposed to go into the other thread. Embarassed

The file formats for the FM7 are .f7b for banks of 32 patches.

Thanks for the great information.

f7b is now a valid file type for upload.
