I've been developing electronic music for quite some time now. I havent had much feedback over the years and I've decided to get something accomplished. So, Im bringing to you a link to my website that has my music published. Please let me know what you think of my work, it's much appreciated. _________________ Music Use To Be Art

I am listening to "Agressive" right now. This is really good, but I think that "rythm box" loop is not contributing much. The music is excellent but the "TR something" loop kinda distracts. Still, a drummish track of some sort should probably be in there. What about programming a rythm track with true synth sounds instead and aim for a more integrated rythm?
Still, this is very good stuff. I like it. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Silk Rythm is good. really good. It sounds like partly to be an impro. There are some incredibly groovy sections in there. Improvements? Editing it some and pay attention to keeping the groovy sections flowing. Still, I am probably not hearing this the way you hear it. I think it starts to take off around 03.15. The basic rythm track should be a bit more snappy. The various synth stuff on top is sometimes really grooving really hot. You have some very hot stuff that keeps disappearing too fast. I imagine you could focus more on the pulse/pulses you are creating and then edit the layers some in order to take that pulse further.
Anyways, I think this is good stuff. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

I really appreciate the feedback : )
I think when I origionally created sik rhythm, I didnt want the good parts to stay to long, maybe dissapearing to fast was my work around. I'll probably end up creating a remix at some point in time, it really is my favorite song to date.
Anyways, Im definately glad that you enjoyed it. _________________ Music Use To Be Art

All the tracks are nicely done, well-recorded.
On "Aggressive" there seems to be some compressor "pumping" -- perhaps that is the effect you were after. I didn't find it objectionable, just noticed it.
Guess I am partial to "No More Silence". I like "Silk" however the rhythm seems a flow a little more naturally in "No More Silence" and I like the more involved and chromatic bass line in "No More Silence".
Of course, music should speak for itself however you might consider adding more to your profile and website to provide information about you and your musical/artistic ideas.
Thank you for sharing your work and best wishes. |

kkissinger,
Again, nice feedback. You don't know how much its appreciated.
The "compressor pumping" in Aggressive is half real and half faked. It was intentional and I really liked the dynamics that resulted in experimenting with this track. When I was first developing that track, I noticed that result and decided to enhance it without destroying the rest of the sound by finding a way to make it seem more present than it actually was.
You have a good ear to notice something like that. How long have you been in the music industry? Something like that doesn't come from just a few months of audio production
About the website not having a lot of content. I just began designing it and wanted to start with something direct before I added anymore data. I find that to much information vs stimulation tends to distract from the abstract vibe of my art.
Again, to everyone reading this. I feel undoubtably greatfull for your time. _________________ Music Use To Be Art

hey man. Good stuff! Agreed that the RECORDING quality (mastering, compression, mixing levels) are DAMN good. Melodically, i probably got the most out of Have You Ever. The End when it gets really noisy is actually pretty powerful. I am not usually a big fan of music that is looped heavily, so concerning the drum pattern on this track I wished for some slight rythmic variation at times (not drastic, just to spice things up). Silk Rythm is interesting, but I feel the "otherworldly" feel of your sounds gets detracted by the vocal sample. If you want to check out some of my stuff, i've got two posts on the online music ("circus music and "electro funk) as well as two other posts on the introduc yourself forum. Nice!
PS.What is EBM? Sounds interesting. |
