mistrust: "never alone" |

|
Hi there
I'm new to the site and was just looking for some feedback/comments on a couple of tracks I've done recently. My bio is in the "Introduce Yourself" section, by the way.
Here are the tracks:
Never Alone: sort of ambient/drift music, which was inspired by my (at the time) soon-to-be-born baby's journey into the world. Made using my own sounds and pads, and a few free samples, in Cubasis and Acid Pro.
I Travel: my own version of "From a Railway Carriage" - a sonic journey through the urban landscape. Made using the same gear as Never Alone
See what you think.

Thanks for these links. I listened to both tracks. Good stuff, in my opinion. These compositions move along and evolve. While they have an ambient feel and texture, they do keep my interest with enough variation.
I know from personal experience how the birth of a new child makes a profound impression on a person. Nothing is as powerful.
Mistrust, keep 'em coming. |

Nice tracks! I can hear the TDream in Never Alone. Like the way it changes & develops. Especially like the bass synth kicking in at about 4minutes. I Travel has a good groove and the opening really hooked me. Good driving music.
Having a kiddo changes it all. Really opens up the way you look at things. I used to record my kids and play it back for them - they were fascinated. I found that playback at bedtime worked wonders by the way (as long as you edit out the more angst ridden moments). I did a release many years ago called Epidarus where I combined their cooing & babbling with synths & nature sounds, etc. Babies loved it. Adults went unconcious within minutes. Used to give it as a gift to pals that just had a baby.
Anyway, glad you decided to bring your music out. From the comments at electromancer, looks like you're developing an appreciative audience. _________________ Que la musique sonne - Edgard Varese

Great idea! I bet there's still a market for anything that will make a baby stop crying. |

It's a really good idea having stuff to calm babies down. I played "Never Alone" quite often in the weeks leading up to my wife giving birth, and now the baby's here, he seems to recognise it!
Everyone who's heard the track seems to think it's really relaxing. I wouldn't recommend driving to it, though. I nearly fell asleep at the wheel listening to it a few weeks ago!
The other song on the Electromancer site, by the way, is called
"Say Your Name".
It's not quite in the same vain as the other two, though.
