The parts are drying after being sealed with poly-urethane. It's a kit. When assembled it will be an exact copy of the rack in Dick Chaney's rec-room _________________ The question is not whether they can talk or reason, but whether they can suffer. -- Jeremy Bentham |

Never was into military stuff even as a kid. But I did build one of those plastic models of a Saturn 5 around 63 or 64, well before the one was launched. A few years later I got a pass for one of the Apollo launches from a well connected family friend and was as close as civilians were allowed. Now that was truly awesome. _________________ The question is not whether they can talk or reason, but whether they can suffer. -- Jeremy Bentham |

Kinda reminds me of the Stonecutters episode of the Simpsons:
"Number One: This ritual is called...Crossing the Desert.
[Homer gets paddled on the butt by Hibbert, Skinner,
Brockman, Krusty, Moe, Quimby, and Willy in succession]
Number One: And this, we call the Unblinking Eye.
[he gets paddled by the same people in reverse order]
Homer: Hey...have you ever noticed that the Crossing the Desert is
a lot like the Unblinking Eye. And it's _exactly_ like the
Wreck of the Hesperus.
Number One: And now, the final ordeal: the Paddling of the Swollen
Ass...With Paddles."

It seems to be symmetrical - that is to say, both sides have the same objects dangling in the same order, only in reverse order. I'm still clueless as to the white plastic's role, unless it is the only thing holding the two sides together.
If you could move the parallel bars back and forth (like a ski pole motion), you might be able to get some wooden jangling sounds going. That seems a bit unlikely, though..... _________________ One Player Game | OPG on SoundCloud |

Wait a minute! It's not done, is it? It's one of those street performer rigs where you can have five dummies and a dancer all dancing at once! _________________ One Player Game | OPG on SoundCloud |

Just like life this quiz is unfair. You can't see all the parts.
So some hints, (Which in life you don't get.)
> 98% of the people who buy these have two X chromosomes.
( and that's true of this one also)
> 70% of buyers have short telomeres
(no, I won't go there for fear of being skinned alive)
It will weigh ~ 150 lbs / 68 Kg when complete.
When I've finished assembling it I'll post a picture of the completed machine. _________________ The question is not whether they can talk or reason, but whether they can suffer. -- Jeremy Bentham |

Can't find the exact model of the machine by googling on images and comparing with your picture, but judging from all pictures and the given weight it must be a nice one ! _________________ Jan

I think "a machine used in fiber arts" is about as close to an answer as anyone who has not built this particular machine could get. So, Blue Hell, you win. I'll post a picture of the completed thingy when it's completed.
My applogies to all who participated in the Wreck of the Hesperus. Second place goes to OPG _________________ The question is not whether they can talk or reason, but whether they can suffer. -- Jeremy Bentham |

Right, it's a quilting machine frame. But, Howard, you have inside info and so are disqualified and Blue Hell still wins (nothing).

I have never seen a quilting frame in my life, but I do know that there is a quilter in your household. I know there are doggies and horsies in your household too and I didn't think this was for them.
OK, I'll let Blue Hell have all of nothing. All of nothing is better than nothing. _________________ --Howard

Thanks Howard, although it would not be too hard to pass it on
(it is really true I guess, the less you have the easier you share).
Looked up the quilting on the web, was a new word for me, but now I wonder does the machine do it all - like weaving padding & stitching & what not ? _________________ Jan

And just how many doggies and horsies do you know that do fiber arts?
Blue Hell wrote: | ...but now I wonder does the machine do it all - like weaving padding & stitching & what not ? |
It’s just a giant (long arm) sewing machine. Rather than push the quilt around under the arm of the machine you move the machine over the fabric. _________________ The question is not whether they can talk or reason, but whether they can suffer. -- Jeremy Bentham |
