Hi, I've just begun experimenting with the blob in POV-Ray for making music video animations. You define a blob and a control parameter from 0 to 1 that sets the mathematical threshold in space where blobs will extend to each other (I use 0.8 for extra blobbiness). Then you fill the blob with base objects like spheres, each of which may have a unique color. Finally you move these objects around in space and observe them blobbing together. Depending on the parameters, a 20 second video can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 10 hours or more. You can see my blobtastic videos on my music web page at:
