hello, it is my first time on this forum so go easy on me! In any case my friend and I came up with this idea for an event on the premise that technology can be both alieanting and empowering, and these kinds of paradoxes specifically arise between (for example) a modern electronic music performer and his (her) audience. Every person we asked to play was specifically asked to play a diverse set that draws on a variety of equipment/gear.

SO if you are in the central illinois area (or nearby, this is by the University of Illinois) come check it out!

Overcoming Electroculture Alienation

Date: Saturday 12th April 2008 (Devo's Birthday)

Time: Music and Presentations start at 8 PM

Cost: $5 Cover grants you entry to both rooms

This is an all ages event.

Directions:
I-57 to I-74 to Urbana. Exit onto Cunningham Ave. This is 45 South and will turn into N. Vine St. in Urbana. Proceed South for about 2 miles to Elm St. Turn right and proceed to the parking garage entrance between Broadway and Race Streets. Event will be across the street from the garage in large stone building by a mall entrance. look for a large staircase and pillars.

~This infamous duo has been banging Live PA's for various audiences in the Mid-West area since late 2006. Combining the natural talent of Joe’s Imagination and The Infinite Möbius, The Infinite Imagination was born. Both members are accomplished Dj's and producers. Now, when not working in the Citadel Recording Studio, they are out playing shows, creating some of the most original electronic dance music around. Watching this duo is an experience like no other.
