HELP !! Need Operating System for Novation Remote Zero SL |
 |
|
Hi, I am in really in need of updating my operating system below for my Remote Zero SL control surface. I must be going crazy because I cant find this anywhere on the Novation website. It's a SYS-EX format file. If anyone has this new O/S, could you please post it here for download? The technical support at Novation does not seem to be responding to my questions. They claim it comes with the new installer but I dont see it in any directory after installation.
ReMOTE ZeRO SL OS 4.1.09
Any help would be appreciated ............

Andy,
That was the first place I went to get the latest Universal Automap. The installer never works right and there is no new O/S with the download as they claim. Others have had trouble with this download also. I have e-mailed their tech support and they say they have received it and will take some time to get to it because their offices have moved. I just want them to send me the RAW SYS-EX files and I can use MIDI-OX to dump them into the remote zero sl unit.
oszero.syx
globalzero.syx
templateszero.syx
Thanks for the reply

Andy, yes, you are 100% correct. Thanks very much. The files they post are fo the Remote SL and not the Zero SL. The files above are the ones I mentioned in my post yesterday and are the ones I am trying to get. That's the frustration of it all, they should have made it easy to get these files. When they said these are the files you need for the zero unit, they should have provided a link for those also. But, I realize we are not in a perfect world and I am sure I will get hem in due time.
Novation finally did get back to me BUT only acknoweledged that they receied my question but could not get to it because of backlog. I may have mentioned, but they moved their offices just last week so they are way behind on thier tech support questions.
Thanks Andy for looking with me, you have been helpful

Hi Bill,
Thats no problem.
The Novation guys and girls are usually pretty good with support, so possibly just unlucky timing.
Cheers

Andy, DUDE !!!!!!!! You did help man. !!! I took a peek at your link you posted and decided to take a look in the ZIP file and low and behold, the remote ZERO SL operating system IS in there along with the Remote SL stuff! Wow, OK, thanks .... I will have to dump that into my SL tonight !! Thanks again ...... My OS way WAYYYY too old to support the new functionality in Universal Automapping 2.0 . I am sure things will be good now. I will report the outcome
I agree with the timing at which I needed the support, it's no fun moving any business ....... I totally understood.

Just to close the loop on this, I have successfully loaded a new operating system into the Remote Zero SL along with the latest templates and globals and things seem to run fine now. Midi-Ox worked perfectly for this.
It's interesting to note that if you own one of these and your operating system is too old, even Novation's latest updater/installer will not work correctly and will fail to upgrade your unit and leave it in worse shape than before you tried to upgrade. To me, that was not very smart and it seems, looking closer at all the forums, many folks had this problem. Once you do get it updated though, it seems to work nicely with Ableton LIVE 7.x. Now to check out how all my VSTi's work with "Automap" wrappers around them
