so my micro modular just decided to not power up

i tested 3 other working PSU
i opened it up and tried to apply power directly to the solder pins of the power jack, nothing

are these known to just blow?

could that be just the big input cap that is dead?

it was working fine, i power cycled the whole rig and then nothing, no lights Sad

any help would be appreciated

Take a voltmeter and check if the voltage from the power supply input is reaching pin 1 of the LM2940 voltage regulator that's lying flat on the board next to the fat input protection diode.

Then check pin 3 of the LM2940 to see if it's sending out 5v.

Here's a general reference of what the LM2940 does:

also, double-check that those other psu's are sending at least 9v DC (not AC!) to the tip of the barrel connector, and not the sleeve (like many boss, roland or TC Electronic psu's do).
