The root cause lies with the fact that on the silkscreen, pot1 and pot2 are switched.

That solved my problem, too!

However, the output is rather quite. I think I'll increase the value of the resistor in the feedback loop at the output.

I found that when i used the 2n5089 with the 2n3906 i had similar problems so i switched the 2n5089's out for 2n3904 and they work good now.

The trimmer just adds an offset voltage to the frequency CV summer. If you set the Cutoff knob to the middle you can change what frequency the middle will be by changing the trimmer.

I don't know what real serges use but looking at moog or arp ...
