living in the UK, south east.
anyone got any recommendations for manufacturers either first or second hand. looking to put together about a 1k rig, probably bass bins and tweeters, but if that makes you cringe and reckon mids would be a good idea too (maybe as a later addition) then please make recommendations on that too.

i've said it many times, i love the mackie powered speakers. i have a pair of srm 450's, but there are also the 350's now which are cheaper. for real bass you will need a sub, but that can be added later (i need a bigger vehicle before i can get a sub, as i often truck my setup, ramona's setup and the entire pa in my 93 accord).

one of the biggest advantages to this setup is no amplifiers, just plug the mixer into the speakers, and power to the speakers.
