Another one. Every little farm in the wilderness will sport at least one cool car.

I dunno why, but you will often find very weird stuff behind barns.

My pic was of Norway. On the road from Trondheim to Bergin. You go on a lot of ferries. It is probably the most beautiful road trip I've ever taken.

I am sorry, the pix is a bit blurry. The plane was kinda all over the place.
Still Norway.

Well behind our barn it's much more prosaic.

It would be interesting to know what time of year the pictures of Norway were taken.

The first ones probably are from mid september or so.
The last one is early august I guess.

And you saw this too. This pix is taken from the top deck of the ferry.

We lived at about 8000 feet in the Rockies for a few years. I think the weather must be similar. I remember it staying below 0 F for a week or more at a time even in November.

BTW Bachusville weather stats: Maximum average daily high is on August first and is 75 F . Minimum average daily low is 20 F and occurs on Jan 20th. Max average snowfall is 5 inches also on Jan20th. "Best" weather in the US outside of the Pacific North West. 'Course some people think Florida has the "best" weather. No accounting for taste, you know. Wink

Considering the shadows I guess it should look at bit like this at that time of day:

Norway is a relatively nice place to visit I guess. I do however advice against sending any of your drug crazed republican politicos to Norway during winter. They will probably harm themselves. You know, they will probably think all the white stuff is cocaine. On second thought, don´t send any of them over here ever. They might discover we have oil. Shocked

I think the winters there would prove more than I could bare. Even Colorado Rocky winters are way too much for me now. And keeping livestock under those conditions can be extremely tough. I got all the winter I can stand right here in Bachusville.

From what I've heard, the weather in Scandinavia (or the southern parts, at least) is less extreme than, say, New York, which is hotter in the summer and colder in the winter. It's all to do with the Gulf stream that flows from Mexico to Europe.

True and I'd gladly live in the climate of Ireland. But farther north, where the caribou graze ... gota be rather cold.

Not to mention that we're about to turn off the Gulf Stream, The Atlantic conveyor is beginning to show signs of weakening already.

Oh yeah that. I try not to think about that. Sad

That would be the end of Scandinavia. I dunno, I reckon when you guys kick out the muslims from Guantanamo, you might "allow" us Scandinavians in there. We can handle the interrogations as long as we get a some soup and a blanket. Hmm, either that or we will have to liberate Canada.

Go for Canada, you'd probably feel more at home with the caribou than the cockroaches.

Great advice. We will consider Canada. We can always raid christian strongholds in Texas whenever we need some fun and exercise.

Just a quick point: the wet winters of the British Isles feel much colder than the crisp dry cold of the far North. Imagine five below with lots of nice humidity. The humidity after a few weeks of constant Scandinavian cold is next to nothing. I prefer minus twenty here to a British Winter.

The car in the picture is framed by the two kildesorteringssøppelkasser (bins for sorting your rubbish). This was most quaint and districty -- only two types of rubbish!
