I forgot! Back to the topic........
I agree with everything you say about DAT.......and, i like the fact that it's erasable!
I can see myself recording CDs onto DAT and playing them from THERE, instead of my old cassette recorder!

They're affectionatley (?) known as the "SBB Gestapo"!
I've even heard a rumor that they're trying to throw the police chief out!

Very good, Norm. Nice sounds. I like the way the rhythm varies while the beat stays the same throughout. _________________ --Howard

Thank you!
I had to attenuate some of the low-end frequencies, 'cos it sounded kinda "boomy" ("bassy") on my PC speakers.
The sound "breaks up" kind of "interestingly" at the very end, but you couldn't hear it, so i quickly boosted it up 3x the normal volume.
Now, i have to give my NEXT composition "a good thinK" while i clean out the garage!
LOL!

Hi, all! Need any advice u can give me.
I'm down to 2 DATS: Sony DAT-60ES and Tascam D-20MKII
Both are the same price. They seem to have pretty much the same features.
Has anyone ever used one/both, or read about them, so that they can give an opinon of which i should go for?
Thank you,

Well, I have a DA20MKII and it has worked fine for me. No problems at all. I have used it as a mastering machine, playback and as an A/D convertor. I don't know about the Sony though. Sony does make good products but they always seem to do one little thing different that usually comes back to bite you in the assl. Remember the ac-dc power supply plugs for the first CD Walkmans? Not a standard at all - you had to buy the Sony product if your broke - and they were not cheap..
But their audio products are usually good. I would suggest looking at the specs for both and see which one fits the bill.
