Here's a letter i wrote to the company that makes MINE (Roxio). Does anyone know of software that will solve my problem? Thanks, Norm

-------

I have CD Creator V4. (And a cd-rom & burner). I would like to make a "Best of" disc of many cds.

With V4, you have to create a "cd image" -- put the 1st cd in, select the tracks, then put the 2nd cd in, select the tracks, and on and on, until you get 'em all in the "image".

THEN, after hitting RECORD, you have to put the first one in again, then the second, etc, etc.........

Do u make a product (or an update for this version) that you could put the 1st cd in, select the tracks AND BURN EM THEN, without putting an end-of-file mark on the disk?

Then, put the 2nd cd in, BURN the songs you want, then the 3rd....

And, when you're done, just "close" the copy?

Having to feed many cd in over and over is rather tedious!

I am no PC software guru... but I imagine it must be possible to do the same on PC you can do on the mac.. first export the chosen tracks to harddisk.. then burn the CD from these files. Norm will not want to burn from MP3s but plain 44.1khz/16 bit exports. I guess there must be some MP3 ripping progs on the PC which can export aiff/wav files .. ?

On the mac this is no problem at all and I imagine what Norm needs is a handful of better software tools.
