I have with me a small M-audio 02 USB midi controller. Our indoor drumline needs to use it to cue wave files through a computer, but the rules for competition say it must be PLAYED on the synthesizer. Is there any way to register a synth the same way a joystick would, so as to assign sounds to each key on the computer?

One way to do it is to spilt the keyboard and send the output of one range of keys to a sampler. Then you make a soundset on the sampler with the sounds you want.

That might work fairly well, thanks. I was more looking for soethiung on the side of using the keys in the same sense one might say, usa a game pad. But for our purpose, that may very well work, thanks
