Hello!

Two of my tracks were recognized on the "Spellbound" Best of 2006 program:

"Meteor Mallets" http://kevinkissinger.com/meteormallets.shtml was selected as the winner for 2006 in the neo-classical category. This is a piece with a somwhat minimalist percussing texture along with a melodic Theremin part.

In addition, the "Ricercare" ( http://kevinkissinger.com/bachricercare.shtml ) was nominated for Best Classical Performance of 2006.

I was in good company -- Kip Rosser and Howard Moscovitz's performance of "Divertimento" was nominated in the "Best neo-classical" category -- in fact, Kip won in the Avante-garde category with his "Four Theremantras", and his transcription of the Liszt "Funeraille" was a nominee in the classical category.

2006 saw the creation of nearly one-hundred new works from people on the Spellbound Artist list. (Spellbound is the only program devoted entirely to music that utilizes the Theremin.)

The entire list of nominees, winners, and a download of the entire podcast can be found at http://spellbound.purplenote.com

Congratulations! The Ricercare thing in particular is great. Hearing them boxes all singing together is quite something.

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the "Ricercare" and "Meteor Mallets".

Ah, no real mallets though... all but the Theremin was done on the K2600 synth.
