It is a great pleasure to announce the Uncle Krunkus has agreed to join the team of volunteer forum moderators. Uncle will be helping to take care of the DIY Synth and Music From Outer Space forums.

Uncle Krunkus, also know as Andy, has been very active on the forum since July, 2005. He has been a very positive, knowledgeable and generous contributor, and a respected member of our community.

On behalf of all of the members and moderators at electro-music.com, thanks, Andy, for accepting this responsibility. I'm sure everyone joins me in expressing congratulations...

Great news! We need more manpower to keep the ruffians in check and to avoid at all costs that any not directly technical discussions should inadvertedly become non-silly.

Thanks everybody!

I'm very honoured to have been chosen for this job. I've just about got my head around my new job as a projectionist at Nambucca Cinema. I'm still doing my computer tutorial business on the side, and continue to get jobs fixing musical equipment and instruments. It's taken a while for me to find my feet in the country, as I have lived my whole life in suburban, and inner city Sydney. Life in a quiet beachside resort town like Nambucca can be isolating at times, and my sense of connectedness with a technical community has survived due to my involvement with this forum, and all of the generous, devoted, good humoured beings who I have met here. Thank you for your honesty, wisdom and patience. I will do my best to continue to share this legacy with current and future members.

Even though I don't get as much time for SDIY as I'd like these days, I've almost finished the ASM2 Sorcerer, and will soon be starting the stripboard layout for the DimC chorus. I hope some day soon to actually do some writing, so I can use some of the things I've been tinkering with for the last couple of years. I literally have not produced any music since before we left Sydney, and it does worry me at times. (feel free to give whatever advice you have in this regard)

Felicity, Indigo & Hannah are all very proud of me becoming a moderator / projectionist. They inspire me everyday to become a better person.

Okay, now, how do I wield my moderating powers? Teach me, master Mosc, how to turn spammers into dust!

Congrats, Uncle K!

I say if you're going to be in the country and isolated, a seaside resort town ain't all bad. Try a landlocked wheat field Very Happy

I still don't know what I should be doing. Confused
Is there some kind of post I can read which outlines the basics of how to be a moderator? Without some kind of job description, I'm lost. Sad

Yes, somehow I'm having deja-vu to that recent movie "employee of the month". You now have the key to the secret cashier/editor lounge.

Congrats, Uncle K. Also, surely the best way to write some decent material is to first write some really bad material, listen to it, then say "Geez, I can do better than that!"
