every so often when i'm looking at the waveform of a rendered track i have some DC offset. i understand the basic principles of removing DC offset, obviously if it's an isolated sound you can use any number of packages to move the waveform.

however, if it's in a mix that you want to remove it from and it's the kick sound that's causing the offset, is it appropriate to use the one pole one-zero high pass filter?

also, showing my ignorance here, but what exactly is meant when ref books say a one pole one-zero hp filter? i know what a one pole filter is... it's the one-zero bit that foxes me...

ok, this is what i've been doing... but having to explain what's going wrong will involve lots of screen shots and loading in samples etc etc, so it'll have to wait till tomorrow.

thanks anyway!!!

I love this forum too Wink

When you get your thoughts together, I'll be interested to listen. It made me think of a particular problem I have solved digitally.
