After talking in #lad in freenode irc,
there was an issue about different soundcards / audio interface really need different jackd (or JACK Control) parameters.
so they decided to start a wiki page to compile the working jackd command-line..

so you can check out (and compare to yours)
and if you've got any specific card with a working jack config, please share.

Excellent start! I can see something like this that would compare to the linux4laptops kind of thing. This info is always so helpful, thanks for posting.

I always just use:

jackd -d alsa -r 44100 -n 3

Works for me, no matter what the card. '-n 3' gives 3 buffers, so it skips a bit less, but nothing is better than running realtime (-R). That requires running everything as root though, so it can be a bit of a pain, but it's really important during recording.
