I know this is electro, but I'm excited about my new guitar |

I'm a big fan of Electra guitars they were made in japan in the 70 's 80's in the Matsumoko (sp) factory made famous for the high quality Ibanez guitars. These are under-appreciated, in my opinion, quality guitars. Usually copies, but they have some original. They had a model called MPC (Modular Powered Circuits) guitar. A handful of peeps endorsed these guitars which had a special cavity in the back that held two catridge style effects. They made about 12 different effects. You turn them on with switches on the front of the guitar. Pretty cool. here's alittle explanation http://www.rivercityamps.com/electra/anat.php
And here's the new one and the "family"

Wow NICE!!
Guitars are most definately 'Electro' in my books! An electric is an 'electro-acoustic' path? So yes. It's Electro! _________________ ACHTUNG!

I want my Guild S60D back.
And I always wanted that 300d in white. Anyone? _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Hey, thanks y'all. Yep I sure like em. Sometimes I just look over at one and say "Man, your a sweet looking guitar, I gotta pick you up and jam."
I really dig those guilds. _________________ "your stripes are killer bro" |

I know what you mean. I recently got a good deal on a second hand Rickenbacker 330 (not that cool and even less electro, but still...), which makes for a beautiful piece of decoration in the corner that you can't resist to pick up every now and then.

Thanks Bill, twice . I bought the maple one at a guitar show and they keep the lights real low (of course) So I didn't realize how nice the wood looked til I got home. _________________ "your stripes are killer bro" |

Hi Guys,
As we now have a thread for new guitar purchases heres one I just got, a Gretsch 5120:
http://gretschguitars.com/gear/forums.html?a=2&product=G5120
I have always fancied a Gretsch before but they have been a bit expensive, this is one from the cheap range which is a bit of a bargain at 500 pounds in the UK ($500 in the states), finish and build quality is very good.
I will probably replace the tuners and pickups but apart from that a very nice guitar and worth a look if you fancy a cheap Gretsch.
Cheers
