Hi. Please come to my new site, I'm putting my tracks there. I'm making palatable lo-fi electronica, as the topic says, nothing too top-heavy, using only a computer. (I use softsynths.)

I just played Aurora Gardens. Nice. Poppy, crisp and pleasant.

Retroattivo is very retro. Sounds too familiar.

ahh, the kids are outraged...
CHORD CHANGES!!!

i like this a lot. i like the sounds, the sense of harmony and melody. great stuff. makes me feel happy. no criticism, really. just a nice little treat. i needed to clean some pop out from my ears, and that will do nicely.

her seven eyes radiant: downloading....
nice chord changes again, i get a very pop music sense from you, like you've played in some pop or punk or rock bands before (something with power chords). nice structure, man! it's silly and happy, but with wonderful substance that makes me smile. gotta love those arpeggios. i think you could take this stuff right to the brink of enlightenment with those glistening textures.

thanks for the link!

Listening to Aurora Gardens

Like the intro - I guess I can tell where the name came from. Maybe a bit of overkill on the voice effects - Id like to hear them

Piano/Keyboard is cheesy
Tune gets better when it goes away at 1:32
Like it now ...very nice feel good factor about this tune

Oh no the keyboard is back!!

All in all nice tune shame about that cheesey keyboard otherwise I would have defo kept it

Ummm. I absolutely love this music.

And it's so not the sort of thing I would normally listen to. Normally I like my music to be, you know, nicely produced, with, like, good sounds and stuff. But like the man said, it's lo-fi. And palatable.

But what a sense of melody! The man makes melody sound so easy, like all he does is sit there at the keyboard and the only stuff that comes out is really good, immediately catchy melody. Listening to these tunes, mainly each one is build around a particular little group of repeated chords, and he keeps chucking nice melody after nice melody on top... and then occasionally switches it all up and does something new, and equally great.

Um, I downloaded all 8 tunes off the site, and I've had them on my walkman all day, and I think they'll stay right there for weeks. I won't bother to go into detail about each one because they're all ace and I find it hard to pick out ones which are best. The best song name is definitely "Her Seven Eyes Radiant", but I also really like "The Kids Are Outraged".

Um, I should find something to criticise. The sounds are shit, the drums are throwaway. There's no great interest in the arrangements. But, none of this really matters because what drives the music, is, you guessed it, all the layered melodies all doing their thing very nicely. To criticise the production would be like going to bed with a really sexy woman and then getting all pissy because she can't cook.

This is the stuff I've found on this forum that I've liked most so far. I'm a sucker for melody. End of story.

Hardliner, if you come back to this forum, get in touch. Give me an email or something. Let's do a tune together!

Cheers

Dovder

Hi,

I'm sorry, I have to admit I kind of abused this forum for advertising my site, but now that mosc's PM has reached me, I'm back. Heh.
Thanks for saying all those nice things about my music. Funny, the "toy keyboard" sound in Aurora Gardens was criticized by another guy on ctgmusic. Coming from chiptunes/VGM, cheesy is almost a synonym for my music (exaggerating a bit here), and sometimes I intentionally make it sound cheesy.

@Dovdimus Prime: I think that's the best thing anyone has ever said about my music. I'd like to quote that on my site if you don't mind. And yeah, let's try making a tune together, as far as my "inertia" allows for that. I'm going to send you a PM or email right after posting this message.
