My music is based of music "concrète" like Pierre Henry, contemporary music and electro.
I'm waiting for your comments. |

Thanks for posting these. It's refreshing to hear some new music in this genre. Particularly enjoyed Espaces. One aspect of musique concrete that appeals to me is the unique structure and freedom of each piece so that it unfolds almost like a sonic story, and I thought Espace was very successful in that sense. It got repeated listens. Intriguing timbres and good development of the overall piece as well. Evasion simply ended too quickly for me (1 minute even - is that right?), although I liked the dense scifi feel to it. Transport had plenty of surprises in the sonic shifts and contrasting events that held together as a whole. And again, interesting sound sources.
I think this approach to music can be particularly tricky and it seems that many find it all to easy to discount it as 'a bunch of random noise', etc. I liked these tracks. Heard some classic approaches as well as your personal take on updating the genre.
I've got a particular affection for this kind of work (when it is done well). Early on I was fascinated by pieces like Revolution #9 and some of Satie's work, but when I heard Poeme Electronic by Varese it was cathartic. Fertile ground for the active imagination. It's like the jazz of electronic music.
Anyway, good music! _________________ Que la musique sonne - Edgard Varese
