This doesn't seem different to me, other than the fact that the sweep is reversed. But as I said, with this identity, I can't say if it's the same as a pan or not. I looked at the math and it ought to be fairly easy to see if it's a pan. In fact, a bit of algebra should be able to transmute one into the other - but I'm unable to do that (and I'm also no math wizard either).

Anyone else?

I'm pretty sure the sin(3u) to sin(u) is NOT a pan, since you can hear sin(2u) in the center of the sweep.
