I updated last month my generators with concentric pots to have a fine tune for the pitch,it was a long search to find the right pots with correct values at affordable price and find knobs after that that fits correctly on the shafts. Second project of the year completed. A Bananalogue Serge VCS in MOTM format.
Hmmm, what's next? I should build this other wogglebug pcb I've got laying around here someplace, but if the doubledekka would arrive it'd be fun. And there's always the frequency shifter...
Here are two new modules for my yusynth system. These two PIC based modules were designed by Alain Coupel www.acoupel.com (the site is in French but will be translated someday soon I expect...) :
A CV-RECORDER (can also be used as quantizer)
A MIDI2CV Converter

OMG. Are you serious? I just gave up on the dream of being able to afford a modcan CV recorder, so this is a too good to be true! Are there any plans for a bridechamber PCB?
Oh, wait. Now that I actually look at it, I see it doesn't record continuous CV's but separates them into steps. I still want one(or 2) _________________ " I went through quite a few trannies til I found one I liked" - Wild Zebra
Nice! Will these projects be available on your site?

I was on alain's site two weeks ago as I was researching PIC based sequencers. I can read enough French to understand it. That's a pretty neat module, I've been thinking about possibly going for a build at some point.
I first need to finish mounting my YuSynth mixer into a 1-wide Frac, it'll be tight but I think it should work fine. I need to buy or build more cabinet space, and get another PSU built.
Great builds so far and we're only one month into the new year.
sduck - that's a very nice panel for that VCS. I have one in Frac, very different looking. Great module. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

Ok, sorry for getting so excited there and posting before thinking
I see now it is not a Yusynth project and I shouldn't expect a bridechamber kit. The actual circuit is simple enough that I don't need a PCB. The only problem now is getting the firmware burnt. _________________ " I went through quite a few trannies til I found one I liked" - Wild Zebra

oh and bbob - nice looking frac stuff there. Are those decals?
neandrewthal - I could probably "Télécharger le firmware" for you and burn it onto a 16F88. I don't have any 88s handy though. I only have a couple of 84s. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

[borat] Très genial! Combien? [/borat]
I don't know the first thing about PICs and whether an 84 would work or not, but they have 88's at futurlec. I could have them send you one, plus whatever you want from them(maybe a bunch more 88's since you're out?) to cover your trouble/shipping to me. _________________ " I went through quite a few trannies til I found one I liked" - Wild Zebra Last edited by neandrewthal on Mon Feb 09, 2009 1:30 pm; edited 1 time in total

i am working on a ghetto DIY version of a CV recorder . details soon. _________________ www.fluxmonkey.com

easier for me to front the 88s - I am working up another Rapid order. I'd charge just for the cost of the 88s and maybe postage, it wouldn't be much. But I'm happy to do some burning duties. We aim to please. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

I posted this panel pic in '2008 builds', but have finally got it working satisfactorily....tho' still a work in progress.
Looking back in my umm "files", i have been stuffing around with this since 2006.
The problem with a dekatron is that it needs 2 trigger signals which must be 45 degrees out of phase with each other. This is easy if you are using the same frequency all of the time, just choose an appropriate cap. gets tricky if you want to vary the clock rate.
There are designs out there but never had much success with them.
Recently Ken Stone posted a design for a relay based programmer/sequencer. looking at this gave me the idea to use a relay in the clock cct. The relay is triggered by whatever signal i feed it. When triggered it feeds a 120VAC 50Hz signal into the dekatron. As the input subcircuit is set to create a 45deg phase lag with a 50Hz signal, it ticks over nicely. Using my judd bell Gate, i can condition the clock signal to be a trigger, stepping the dekatron one stage at a time, or a gate causing the dekatron to jump multiple stages with each step.
Also below and in the vid is a tube amp built this year, not exactly synthdiy, but is used for listening to my synths.
the lizard is a Western Bearded Dragon that lives in my garden. the poor thing has had its eyes pecked out so is totally blind, seems to get by tho.
it has a suicidal habit of basking in the middle of the driveway on sunny afternoons
